I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and have been working in the counselling field since 2006. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology.
I’m often described as welcoming, empathic, open-minded and non-judgmental. I believe in forming a trusting and caring therapeutic relationship in order for you to feel safe and able to share your story with me. Developing trust with each other is crucial to support you in working towards experiencing less emotional pain. If you make the choice to work with me, I want you to feel comfortable in sharing your experiences, current or future apprehensions.
My areas of practice include anxiety and depression, addictions, stress, relationship and family issues, family history dysfunction, major life changes/transitions, trauma, sexual violence, disordered eating, and grief/loss. A strong passion of mine is providing support to women experiencing challenges related to motherhood. This may include depression and anxiety experienced during pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, birth trauma, and pregnancy loss. I have specialized training in understanding and supporting a woman’s journey through motherhood.
I incorporate a variety of therapeutic techniques to help us get to your desired goal. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Trauma Informed and Mindfulness approaches.
I work primarily with adults but also enjoy working with children and adolescents.
In my spare time I am kept busy with my two young children.
I offer daytime appointments on Fridays and Saturdays and evening appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
