I am a Registered Psychologist and one of the owners of Lethbridge Counselling Services. I have been working in the counselling field since 2006 and hold a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in Psychology and a Master of Counselling (Counselling Psychology).
My areas of practice include sexual violence, attachment issues (historical childhood trauma), diet and nutrition including weight issues and binge eating and other eating disorders, domestic violence, body image, developmental processes, sexuality (including orientation, addiction, transitions etc.) and other trauma issues. I also enjoy working with anxiety, depression, adult ADHD, life transitions fears and phobias. I am trained in EMDR (Level I, Level II and Advanced Training in Very early Trauma & Neglect) and am also interested and trained in some body oriented therapies including Hakomi. Other therapeutic modalities that I draw from include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Systems approaches, and overall, I take a very person-centered approach.
I really enjoy supervision and supervise Master’s Level students during their practicum experiences as well as provisional psychologists. I love to support people in their learning and personal and professional development. I have a strong background in training and teaching in the areas of suicide prevention, psychology, women and gender studies, family violence and human service policy.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, children and pets. I also love music and can be found singing in my car wherever I go. Sunshine makes me smile and I enjoy spending time outside in the warm weather months here in southern Alberta.
I offer appointments weekdays during the day and evenings.
