​​​What are the benefits of therapy?

Virtually everyone can benefit from attending therapy at some point during their lives.  You can learn how to cope better with life stresses, have healthier relationships, find balance in your life, take better care of yourself, overcome addictions and other unhealthy patterns, resolve pain (both physical and emotional), get through difficult life circumstances, and overall, just feel better (improved mood). Unresolved issues can have multiple negative impacts on our mind, heart, body and spirit.

How long will counselling take?
The length of treatment depends on a number of factors including your own goals for the process, the types of interventions used and the nature of the presenting issue or concern. Sessions will be scheduled at a frequency that fits your schedule, your finances and what is most appropriate for the work that we are engaged in.

Are counselling services covered by extended health care plans?
Yes. Most extended health care benefit plans cover counselling services though these will vary from plan to plan. Many of our therapists also offer direct billing options. Lethbridge Counselling Services offers services from Registered Psychologists and Master’s Level Registered Social Workers.

What are your fees?
​Fees for sessions are based on a sliding scale (assessed based on your household income) and range from $125 to $175 per hour long session. Methods of payment include cash, Visa, MasterCard and debit.
