My name is Shareen Price and I am a Registered Psychologist. My academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Lethbridge and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My goal as a counsellor is to create a warm and supportive environment to invite clients to explore difficulties, identify possibilities, and create opportunities for growth.
My areas of clinical interest include addressing trauma, anger and emotional regulation, family and sexual violence, attachment issues, life transitions, mental health issues (anxiety, depression, phobias, personality disorders), and identity issues.
Overall, I would say my approach could be best described as strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma informed. I integrate strategies from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT), systems theories, and motivational interviewing to help clients clarify issues and move towards positive change.
I work primarily with adults but also enjoy working with adolescents.
In my spare time I enjoy dancing in the kitchen, watching documentaries, connecting with friends, and spending time with my partner, son and dog.
